Expectations
What I Expect From You
First Lesson
Bring an open mind and a song you love to sing. I’ll take care of the rest!
If there is something specific you would like to tackle from the get go, please let me know before or during the lesson.

Each Week
Prepare. Plan ahead of time what song(s) you intend to sing during our lesson time. Songs should be learned before the lesson begins so we can work on technique and artistry.

Practice. Recording lessons is encouraged. Listen to what we worked on and review before the next lesson so we can keep moving forward.

Have an instrumental track prepared to sing with. Youtube is a great resource, as well as a number of accompanists I am happy to recommend. Sheet music will be necessary for book building.

Be on time and be present.

Be open to trying new things.
First Lesson
We’ll throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks!. By that, I mean we will explore different aspects of your voice and begin to gauge strengths and challenge points. Let’s get to know each other and create a plan specifically targeted toward your success.

Each Week
Repertoire suggestions based on what you need to fill the gaps in your audition book.
Lessons are a judgment free zone and safe space to try new things.
Understanding the why: there is a reason for every exercise. If you are curious about why we may be doing a certain warm up/exercise, just ask and I will be happy to share.

Organization. At the end of each lesson, we will carve out time to write a short “to do” list for the next lesson. I will be prepared with exercises targeting the agenda we’ve created so we can focus on what serves your needs as a singer.

Your lesson is yours. It is important that your journey as a musician is led by you. I am here to help encourage growth and help you become the artist you want to be.
